A Dog’s Dream organizes and funds vacations on the Oregon Coast for service and therapy dog teams.

Service dogs need a break sometimes! They work hard for their human partners, carrying out specialized tasks, managing complex environments, and dealing with sensory overload and other forms of stress.

Like their human partners, service dogs have dreams – things they would love to do if only they had the chance!

A Dog’s Dream vacations feature activities that dogs love most, like running free, using their noses, and relaxing outdoors. The ocean, river valleys, forests and meadows of the Oregon coast provide a perfect setting for service dog teams to enjoy the vacation of their dreams!

A Dog's Dream is a project of Oregon Coast Therapy Animals, under the directorship of Caroline Spark, and with ongoing support from City Dog Country Dog. Vacations are entirely funded by donated time and funds.

A Dog's Dream sponsored its first Dream Vacation on Labor Day Weekend, in Yachats on the central Oregon Coast. Yepa, a 7 year old Standard Poodle, is a career change show dog, who now works as a service dog. With her human partner, Anton Borissov, Yepa enjoyed wandering along forest trails, playing on the beach, forest agility, a barn hunt, and a Poodle Plus Party. After spending 35 years of his life in hospital, Anton realized a long held dream of his own - fishing from a bridge. Most of all, he loved watching Yepa enjoy "just being a dog" in a beautiful natural setting.

A Dog's Dream will offer a vacation for Psychiatric Service Dogs and their handlers in early 2012, and is currently raising funds for this.
